SAP ABAP Developer

About the role

Dematic/KION is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to manage technical developments of SAP systems, supporting both on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop SAP objects such as OData services, CDS views, CE functions and SQL scripts using Eclipse.
• Create inbound and outbound interfaces between cloud and on‑premise SAP instances.
• Work with SAP CPI adapters (SFSF, OData, SFTP, IDOC, SOAP, HTTP, REST) for message exchange.
• Analyze business requirements, prepare project schedules, tasks and estimates.
• Support application development, unit testing, create technical specifications, conduct code reviews and manage transports.
• Design technical specifications, ensure compliance with solution architecture, and develop test plans and automated scripts.
• Diagnose root causes and provide solutions for production and development issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years SAP ABAP experience, including 2+ years with SAP S/4HANA.
• At least two end‑to‑end SAP implementation or conversion projects.
• Strong communication skills in English (C1/C2) and willingness to travel up to 10% internationally.

Required skills

• Traditional ABAP (WRICEF), ABAP OO, SAP Web IDE, Eclipse IDE, ADT.
• Integration using IDocs, remote function modules, web services, ABAP proxies.
• Native SQL, CDS, AMDP, ALV, Adobe Forms, RF screen programming.
• Data conversion handling (JSON↔XML, CSV↔XML) and EDI/API integrations.
• Experience with SAP CPI adapters, OData, SFTP, SOAP, REST.
• SQL trace, runtime analysis, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Project management tools such as JIRA.
