Seat Complete Engineer

About the role

The Seat Complete Engineer is responsible for the design, release, and integration of all components and assemblies that make up vehicle seat systems. Working within Ford's Global Product Development System, you will ensure that seat solutions meet stringent requirements for performance, cost, weight, quality, and craftsmanship while supporting program timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver complete engineering outputs across all GPDS milestones, from product definition to launch and production.
• Lead issue resolution and ensure deliverables meet cost, weight, and quality targets.
• Manage financial status‑to‑target for the seat system and support cost‑process activities.
• Maintain tools and processes for tracking engineering and program delivery.
• Provide on‑site support during prototype, pre‑production, and vehicle launch phases.
• Travel to JIT plants to resolve on‑site issues and support final assembly builds.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of automotive industry experience, preferably in product or design & release engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with the full product development cycle and at least one vehicle launch.
• Strong communication, presentation, and people skills across all organizational levels.
• Proven project‑management ability to create and execute timing plans.
