Senior Accountant – General Ledger Reconciliation

About the role

The Senior Accountant will manage the reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring accurate month‑end and year‑end closes for both US GAAP and Mexican GAAP reporting. The role supports financial analysis, variance explanation, and the preparation of statutory reports.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reconciliations of asset and liability balances and align GL balances with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate period, quarter and year‑end close activities, produce financial statements and perform variance analysis.
• Supervise journal entry preparation for month‑close (MX GAAP) and period‑close (US GAAP) and review entries prepared by analysts.
• Create and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure timely and accurate transaction recording.
• Validate information for annual statutory financial reports and support external audits for both US and Mexican GAAP.
• Assist internal and external clients with reporting inquiries and support store operations on income and balance transactions.
• Coordinate intercompany invoicing, settlements, cash‑flows and related journal adjustments.
• Support special projects and ad‑hoc analysis as required by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Three to five years of general accounting experience, preferably in shared services or retail.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Mexican GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
