Senior Accountant

About the role

China Three Gorges Latam is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Mexico City. The role will ensure accurate, timely and compliant accounting and financial reporting for the company and its subsidiaries, while strengthening internal controls and supporting strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, accruals, depreciation, amortization, payroll accounting and routine journal entries.
• Maintain, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper classification and completeness.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare management reporting packages and financial statement notes in line with accounting standards.
• Establish, document and enforce internal control procedures, identify gaps and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate tax activities, work with external tax advisors and support internal and external audits.
• Perform ad‑hoc financial analyses, reports and presentations for management.
• Manage lease accounting under IFRS 16, including recognition of lease liabilities and right‑of‑use assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting or related roles.
• Strong experience in general ledger accounting, month‑end and year‑end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience in the energy sector is preferred.
