Senior Accountant – Remote (Mexico & Colombia)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to own our operational accounting function and lead the month‑end close. Reporting to a fractional CFO, you will work remotely from Mexico or Colombia, ensuring accurate financial reporting and building internal accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the full month‑end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Maintain timely and accurate financial statements and support the CFO with reporting and controls.
• Manage the Accounts Payable function: invoice processing, approvals, corporate card transactions and employee expense reimbursements.
• Support billing operations, payment applications and resolve customer payment issues.
• Lead the transition of accounting responsibilities from external providers to an internal team.
• Develop, maintain and improve SOPs and process documentation for all key accounting workflows.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce manual work and strengthen controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, Collections and Operations teams to improve workflows and resolve issues.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably as a Senior Accountant.
• Proven experience owning or heavily participating in the month‑end close process.
• Hands‑on experience managing Accounts Payable.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and process‑improvement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

• Experience with Salesforce.
