Senior Accounting & Reporting Associate – Brazil Support

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Accounting & Reporting Associate to support its Brazil General Ledger function from its Mexico City hub. The role combines day‑to‑day ledger maintenance with month‑end closing, reporting and audit support, ensuring accurate financial information for local, regional and global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations in the General Ledger.
• Ensure all financial transactions comply with accounting standards, internal policies and statutory requirements.
• Support month‑end and period‑end close activities, including variance analysis, reporting deliverables and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Collaborate with Financial Reporting, Accounting, Group functions and regional teams to meet local and global reporting obligations.
• Assist audit teams, handle statutory accounting requests and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives for Record‑to‑Report processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in Record‑to‑Report, General Ledger accounting or similar finance roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, month‑end close and statutory reporting.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• SAP (preferred ERP system).
• Advanced Excel for financial analysis.
