Senior Accounting & Reporting Specialist – Inventory

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Accounting & Reporting Specialist focused on inventory to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS. The role is hybrid, based in Mexico City, and offers the chance to work with global finance teams while supporting the company’s eye‑care mission.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate journal entries and perform robust monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders to resolve accounting issues within defined deadlines.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, policies, and procedures.
• Support SOX certification, address audit findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate proactively with regional accounting teams and meet SLA/KPI targets.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, the Financial Controls Manual, and other regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance (master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience at a mid‑senior level.
• Intermediate English proficiency (conversation, reading, writing).
• Proven experience supporting internal and external audits.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory/corporate accounting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills, plus familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SOX controls and financial audit processes.
