Senior Buyer – Oil & Gas (Upstream & Offshore Operations)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support upstream and offshore operations for a leading international energy company in Mexico. The role involves managing end‑to‑end procurement processes for goods and services that keep drilling, production, maintenance and construction projects running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full procurement cycles for offshore and onshore operations, from RFQs to purchase order issuance.
• Manage bid evaluations, commercial negotiations and supplier selection in line with company policies.
• Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, HSE, Logistics, Maintenance and Project teams to ensure material availability.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Support sourcing initiatives focused on cost optimisation, supplier performance and continuity.
• Monitor delivery schedules, resolve procurement issues and ensure contractual, commercial and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in supplier qualification, performance reviews and procurement audits.
• Assist with procurement activities for both CAPEX and OPEX expenditures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience within the Oil & Gas industry, supporting upstream, offshore, drilling, production, maintenance or construction projects.
• Advanced English proficiency (business conversational level).
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle or IFS.
