Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑driven finance professional to lead cost accounting and inventory optimization at our key manufacturing facility. In this senior position you will act as a trusted finance partner, shaping inventory strategies, standard costing, and cost‑control initiatives that directly impact plant profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Own inventory accuracy programs, including cycle counts, scrap reduction, and material reconciliation, working closely with operations and engineering.
• Analyze cost variances, material consumption, and inventory valuation using SAP, monthly reconciliations, and trend analysis; present insights to plant leadership.
• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards that increase visibility of inventory performance and support continuous‑improvement projects.
• Mentor junior team members and drive cross‑functional improvement initiatives across warehouse, supply chain, and engineering.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting, inventory analysis, or materials control with demonstrated senior progression.
• Proven expertise in inventory management, cycle counting, scrap analysis, standard costing and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities, with a commitment to audit compliance and inventory accuracy.
