Senior Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Design Engineer will drive the development of advanced products for the transportation industry, focusing on turbocharger and vehicle system integration. You will lead concept creation through testing, validation, and launch, ensuring robust, high‑quality designs.

Key responsibilities

• Support concept development and detailed design of complex rotor and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with Development Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing and Supply Base to deliver integrated solutions.
• Apply internal standards, ASME GD&T, and tolerance stack‑up analysis to create manufacturable designs.
• Design complex parts and assemblies using Design for Manufacturing, cost and reliability principles.
• Lead design activities for customer programs and coordinate with supporting designers.
• Prepare and present design reviews to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage product lifecycle from CAD data creation to PLM release.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing mechanical and aerodynamic components or systems.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (solid, surface, complex geometry) and 2D drafting.
• Expertise in ASME Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience with PLM/PDM tools such as Enovia, SmarTeam or Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of design for metal castings, machined parts, sheet‑metal forming and assembly processes.
