Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Digital Twin

About the role

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will join Bosch's Digital Twin workstream, focusing on virtualising the vehicle's electronic architecture and validating feature and system behaviour. You will collaborate with a global team to create and test high‑fidelity digital representations of automotive ECUs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and implement software requirements and tasks for the Digital Twin platform.
• Define concepts and tools to establish a Software‑Defined Vehicle (SDV) Digital Twin.
• Act as the technical liaison for the global software development team.
• Test software functions in hardware‑in‑the‑loop and software simulation environments to ensure conformance with customer specifications.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on embedded software engineering experience, preferably in automotive or safety‑critical domains.
• Proficiency in English for daily communication within a global team.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and change/requirement management tools (e.g., ALM, JIRA, GIT).

Required skills

• Programming in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with Embedded Linux or QNX operating systems.
• Knowledge of Ethernet automotive protocols such as SOME/IP or DDS.
• Hands‑on experience with CAN bus configuration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with virtualised ECU environments, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, and hypervisor technologies.
• Understanding of AUTOSAR Classic architecture, including RTE, BSW, and COM stack.
• Exposure to sensor simulation frameworks for camera and radar virtualization.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics modelling and ADAS perception pipelines.
• Familiarity with Rust programming language.
