Senior Manager, Data Privacy Counsel

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Privacy Counsel to join its global Privacy and Technology Law organization. Based in Mexico City with a hybrid work model, you will advise on privacy, technology and data protection matters for the United States, Canada and Latin America, helping the business innovate while staying compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead privacy and technology contract negotiations, including data processing agreements and business associate agreements.
• Support privacy‑by‑design initiatives by assessing risks, recommending controls and collaborating throughout product and service lifecycles.
• Conduct organization‑wide privacy assessments covering data uses, healthcare privacy requirements, cross‑border considerations and risk‑mitigation measures.
• Advise on incident response strategies, assessing data impact, privacy implications and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Guide integration of acquired entities and products, own privacy negotiation practices and strengthen privacy capabilities through training.

Required profile

• Law degree and authorization to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction.
• Eight or more years of relevant legal experience, with substantial exposure to healthcare data privacy, technology law and commercial contracting.
• Proven track record negotiating privacy and technology provisions in complex commercial agreements.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations and related technology considerations.
