Senior Payroll Tax Analyst

About the role

Iron Mountain is looking for a seasoned Senior Payroll Tax Analyst to join its Global Payroll team. The role ensures full compliance with payroll tax regulations across the United States and Canada while supporting critical corporate initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee timely filing of federal, state, provincial and local payroll tax returns (e.g., Forms 940, 941, W‑2, and Canadian equivalents) through outsourced vendors.
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of employee and employer payroll tax setups, resolve discrepancies, and manage payments for workers' compensation and other agency taxes.
• Serve as primary liaison with tax authorities, handling notices, audits, and tax ID registrations, and address executive escalations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and tax preparers to test and implement mandatory tax updates in the Workday payroll system.
• Prepare trend reports on tax liabilities and financial impacts for senior management and support M&A activities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in payroll, payroll tax, or high‑volume multi‑state/multi‑provincial payroll environments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, Circular E, and multi‑state reciprocity rules.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
