Senior Quality Systems and Metrology Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quality Systems and Metrology Engineer to lead the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System and manage the Metrology Laboratory, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and customer‑specific requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949.
• Coordinate internal, certification and customer audits; follow up corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage document control, quality records and ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements.
• Lead the annual internal audit and Layered Process Audit programs.
• Drive continuous improvement projects related to quality systems.
• Oversee the Metrology Laboratory, ensuring internal and external calibration of all measuring equipment.
• Maintain traceability of measurement standards and manage the master calibration program.
• Evaluate and validate new measurement equipment; perform MSA studies (GR&R, bias, linearity, stability).
• Provide technical support on dimensional matters to Engineering, Production and Quality teams.
• Participate in APQP, PPAP, new project launches and coordinate containment actions for measurement issues.
• Generate performance indicators for the quality system and metrology lab; train personnel on relevant topics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in Quality Management Systems within the automotive industry.
• Proven experience managing a metrology laboratory and conducting internal and certification audits.
• Hands‑on experience with IATF 16949, MSA studies and AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).

Required skills

• IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 knowledge.
• AIAG Core Tools expertise.
• Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) proficiency.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint interpretation.
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation (Hexagon, Zeiss, Mitutoyo or similar).
• Calibration and measurement traceability management.
• Microsoft Office suite.
