Senior Specialist – Direct Taxes & Tax Compliance Lead

About the role

This senior position is responsible for ensuring full tax compliance for Mexican entities. The role oversees the calculation, reporting and payment of income tax, VAT and other local obligations while supporting audits, transfer‑pricing studies and business advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly and annual tax compliance processes for income tax, VAT and other local taxes.
• Prepare and submit statutory filings such as ISSIF and SIPRED.
• Oversee e‑accounting compliance, including documentation gathering for tax authorities.
• Support implementation of SAP enhancements and other tax‑process tools.
• Identify and escalate tax risks, ensuring internal controls are followed.
• Handle product tax classification, VAT withholding, and system updates.
• Manage VAT refund applications and related tax incentives.
• Perform monthly tax reporting using COGNOS and other tools.
• Support transfer‑pricing documentation, including Local File and Master File preparation.
• Assist internal and external audits, including social security audits.
• Reconcile tax accounts with accounting records.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in tax compliance for Mexican entities.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican income tax, VAT and local tax regulations.
• Experience preparing statutory filings (ISSIF, SIPRED) and VAT refund claims.
• Familiarity with SAP, e‑accounting platforms and tax reporting tools.
• Ability to identify tax risks and implement mitigation strategies.
