Software Development Engineer – Digital Payments & Emerging Markets

About the role

Amazon's Digital and Emerging Payments team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help build world‑class payment experiences for customers in Mexico and other emerging markets. You will work on both front‑end (Android, Amazon Fire) and back‑end platform systems, delivering reliable, secure, and high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Drive architecture and technology decisions to enable a seamless payment experience.
• Use metrics and data to iterate quickly on new features.
• Write elegant, maintainable, and secure code for medium to large projects.
• Raise the bar on quality, consistency, efficiency, and security.
• Define and champion engineering best practices across the team.
• Advocate for users by delivering functional, engaging features.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑obsessed mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within an inclusive team.
