Software Development Engineer – OT Security & Data Solutions

About the role

As a Software Development Engineer focused on OT security and data solutions, you will design, develop, and implement software that connects industrial IT systems while safeguarding operational technology environments. You will work closely with IT Logistics and cross‑functional teams to create secure, scalable data architectures that meet Bosch’s corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data‑driven software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
• Implement Industrial IT (OT) security controls in accordance with IEC 62443 and ISO 27001, securing data handling and system interactions.
• Build, validate, and manage analytical datasets and data models, guaranteeing data quality, integrity, and traceability across multiple sources.
• Perform rigorous data quality checks, cleanup, and maintain data lineage for large, complex datasets.
• Maintain and enhance existing data workflows, continuously improving reliability and efficiency.
• Document solutions, enforce data governance, and follow software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure secure integration between IT and OT systems, including network segmentation and access control.
• Support risk management, security assessments, and audit readiness activities, promoting OT security awareness.

Required profile

• Experience with cybersecurity principles, risk management, access control, and secure system design (knowledge of ISO 27001 or IEC 62443).
• Background in industrial or operational environments such as manufacturing or logistics, or a strong willingness to learn OT contexts.
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data‑quality concepts.
• Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts and system integration (APIs, databases, data flows).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a collaborative mindset in a global setting.
• Familiarity with software engineering principles and best practices.
