Software Engineer – Backend

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our Digital@FEMSA team. You will work on small‑scale components, tools and micro‑service applications, delivering secure and scalable solutions under the guidance of the Engineering Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs that meet business requirements.
• Write clean, documented code following security standards and best practices.
• Implement containerised solutions to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Data Management and DevOps teams in agile sprints.
• Capture functional and non‑functional requirements in JIRA stories.
• Define acceptance criteria, write unit and integration tests, and verify usability.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and automate operational tasks.
• Promote an autonomous, inclusive work culture as a Spin Culture Ambassador.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies within the Digital@FEMSA stack.

Required skills

• Java development (minimum 1 year) with Spring framework.
• SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
• CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and SonarCloud.
• Version control with Git.
• RESTful API design and consumption.
• Experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Scrum and Jira project management.
