Software Engineer II – Java

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer II to join JPMorgan Chase’s technology team. In this role you will work within an agile squad to design, develop and maintain Java‑based components that power the firm’s cutting‑edge financial products, ensuring they are secure, stable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, secure Java code and unit tests with limited guidance.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software components while considering upstream and downstream system impacts.
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to improve delivery efficiency.
• Analyze large data sets to identify issues and support decision‑making for stable application development.
• Collaborate with teammates following agile practices, including CI/CD pipelines and application resiliency standards.

Required profile

• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability.
• Hands‑on experience coding in Java (or another modern language) and using database query languages.
• Familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, front‑end technologies, and emerging areas such as AI/ML or mobile.
