Solutions Architect – Platform, Cloud Infrastructure and Security

About the role

At SunnyData, a leading Databricks technology partner, the Solutions Architect – Platform, Cloud Infrastructure and Security will design and implement scalable data platforms while ensuring security and compliance for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through data engineering and architecture with a focus on Databricks solutions.
• Design, build and deploy end‑to‑end data solutions that support AI, ML and business intelligence initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales teams on pre‑sales activities, presenting technical solutions to prospective clients.
• Manage multiple customer accounts, ensuring timely delivery and tracking project outcomes.
• Architect data platforms on AWS, Azure or GCP using best‑practice cloud security and networking.
• Lead internal teams, mentor engineers and provide guidance on data governance, security and quality.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience as a Solutions Architect with a focus on data security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong client‑facing and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to lead complex architecture discovery and design sessions.

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Data engineering: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Databricks.
• Programming: Python, Java, Scala.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
• DevOps/DevSecOps tools: GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, Artifactory.
• Security: encryption, IAM, key management, access control.
• SQL query development and optimization.
• Workflow orchestration: Airflow, Luigi, NiFi.
