Sr. Finance Accountant

About the role

The Senior Finance Accountant will join AVEVA’s finance team in Mexico City, supporting a robust financial control environment. Reporting to the Controller, you will lead key aspects of the accounting close cycle and act as a primary partner for internal and external audit, SOX compliance, and statutory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely delivery of financial results.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to gather inputs, resolve issues and maintain balance‑sheet governance.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, identify reconciling items and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
• Own assigned SOX controls, collect evidence, document performance and support remediation initiatives.
• Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external audit requests, preparing schedules, walkthrough materials and tracking remediation.
• Respond to tax and statutory data requests in partnership with the Tax team and the Controller.
• Extract, validate and analyse financial data using Oracle and advanced Excel templates to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in month‑end close and balance‑sheet management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to drive issue resolution and documentation.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Oracle Financials.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliation and reporting.
