Staff Accountant – Cost & Financial Analysis

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing manufacturing operation. The role focuses on cost accounting, financial analysis, and reporting to help optimise budgets, improve cost‑efficiency, and ensure accurate financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain cost standards, collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and supply‑chain teams, and document cost system processes.
• Record sales, intercompany transfers, labor and inventory transactions; prepare journal entries and verify monthly financial statements.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly plant inventories, conduct physical inventory counts and standard‑cost re‑evaluations.
• Generate financial reports, perform variance and profit analysis, and support account reconciliations.
• Monitor plant activities against financial and capital budgets, advise management on cost‑optimisation strategies.
• Audit internal controls, support external audits (including Sarbanes‑Oxley), and assist with regulatory duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of cost accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High level of integrity, strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP or Hyperion Financial Management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
