Staff Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join the Finance team at NOV Shared Services Mexico. The role supports multiple North‑American business entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting within a collaborative, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Participate in month‑end close activities to meet deadlines.
• Assist with SOX testing and maintain compliant documentation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required financial information.
• Collaborate with Accounting Managers and Controllers to resolve accounting issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Provide financial analysis to support management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in general ledger accounting and month‑end close.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls (preferred).
• Experience in a Shared Services Center is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle, JDE or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
