Staff TAX VAT Analyst

About the role

The Staff TAX VAT Analyst will ensure full compliance with Mexico's indirect tax obligations while driving automation and digital transformation within the tax function. This position blends deep knowledge of Mexican VAT, IEPS and DIOT rules with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for technology.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file monthly and annual indirect tax returns and informative declarations with SAT.
• Validate and reconcile electronic invoices (CFDI) to ensure correct tax classification.
• Support documentation and analysis for VAT credit balances, refund requests and offsetting processes.
• Monitor changes in Mexican tax legislation and assess operational impact.
• Identify manual tax processes and design automated workflows using data preparation, workflow and integration tools.
• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor compliance status, detect anomalies and provide real‑time visibility.
• Apply AI and machine‑learning techniques such as anomaly detection, natural‑language tax research and predictive analytics.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT and business stakeholders to standardise processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide audit support and respond to tax authority information requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Solid technical knowledge of Mexican indirect tax regulations (VAT, IEPS, DIOT).
• Analytical mindset with a strong interest in leveraging technology for tax compliance.
