Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Donaldson is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure supplier performance meets quality, delivery and cost expectations across the Americas. The role involves qualifying suppliers, supporting APQP/SPPAP activities, driving corrective actions and leading development initiatives while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute APQP deliverables with suppliers, including process flow, PFMEA, control plans and readiness reviews.
• Validate critical quality elements such as dimensional results, MSA (GR&R) and capability (Cp/Cpk).
• Facilitate root‑cause analysis using structured methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and support escalation of high‑risk issues.
• Develop and implement supplier development plans aimed at reducing defects and improving delivery.
• Conduct supplier audits (initial, surveillance or special cause) and act as liaison between suppliers and internal teams.
• Support new product development (APD) and post‑production change (ECR) activities.
• Contribute to regional and global continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or related engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in supplier or manufacturing quality.
• Ability to travel up to 30 % within the region, primarily Mexico.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP/SPPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and GD&T.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Whys).
• Proficiency in data‑analysis tools such as Excel and Minitab.
