Surplus Lines Tax Analyst

About the role
SWBC is looking for a Surplus Lines Tax Analyst to ensure accurate tax compliance for surplus lines insurance in assigned states. This entry‑level position offers the chance to develop expertise in insurance tax law while working within a supportive team.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly surplus lines submissions for assigned states.
- Reconcile tax reports to the general ledger and generate payment and correcting journal entries.
- Prepare quarterly, semi‑annual, or annual surplus lines tax reports.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of surplus lines tax accounts and coordinate with data control to resolve setup, programming, or download errors.
- Generate stamping fee invoices and manage their submission for payment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 0‑1 years of experience in premium accounting or tax accounting.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
- Self‑motivated problem solver with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organization, and follow‑up abilities.
