Systems Engineer – xSeries Platform

About the role

The Systems Engineer is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining the xSeries environment, including servers, desktops, virtualization, cloud, and storage components. The role provides second‑ and third‑level support, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and continuous improvement of the infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Implement software and hardware solutions in collaboration with architects, engineers, vendors, and internal customers.
• Coordinate xSeries platform projects covering servers, desktops, virtualization, applications, cloud, and storage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system problems, working with subject‑matter experts and vendors within defined SLAs.
• Perform system upgrades, migrations, and security hardening in partnership with the cyber‑security team.
• Collaborate with the network team on firewall, DNS, DHCP, and other network configuration changes.
• Manage email systems, mailboxes, and related device connections.
• Prioritize escalated incidents, restore services quickly, and reduce business impact.
• Analyze recurring issues, recommend solutions, and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor alerts, support IT associates across locations, and contribute to cost‑saving recommendations.
• Participate in disaster‑recovery testing, backup configuration, and data restoration.
• Create and maintain system documentation and follow change‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience installing, operating, and maintaining xSeries servers and desktops.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex system issues.
• Familiarity with incident management and change‑management processes.
