Systems Requirements Engineer - Infotainment

About the role

ALTEN Mexico, a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, is hiring an intermediate-level Systems Requirements Engineer for its infotainment subsystem in Querétaro. The engineer acts as the key liaison between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects, turning technical and regulatory needs into clear, actionable requirements for the design, development, validation and release of vehicle electrical and electronic components.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical requirements for the infotainment subsystem (and Cabin Thermal & Safety where applicable) across production phases, eliciting them through stakeholder interviews and workshops
• Analyze requirements and collaborate on the design and development of infotainment hardware and software, supporting system modeling and architecture
• Link DREs and System Architects and work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams to ensure correct hardware-software integration
• Identify and resolve hardware and software failures, applying diagnostic tools
• Manage workflows, tasks and issues with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) and JIRA, contributing to the SDLC
• Validate functionality and reliability through testing and perform DFMEA to mitigate design risks
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or engineering degree in fields such as mechatronics, electronics, computer systems, software or telecommunications engineering
• Intermediate level of experience (8 years) in requirements definition, management and elicitation, and in systems engineering methodologies
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of DFMEA and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
• Knowledge of vehicle safety regulations and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN)

• Issue tracking with JIRA (6 years)
• Software development life cycle (SDLC) and diagnostics and troubleshooting (8 years each)
• CATIA V5 (2-4 years); Python and C/C++ for scripting or automation (4 years)
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration or validation (4 years)
