Systems Requirements Engineer Jr - Infotainment

About the role

ALTEN Mexico, a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, is hiring an intermediate Systems Requirements Engineer for its infotainment subsystem in Querétaro. The role acts as the key liaison between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects, turning technical and regulatory needs into clear, actionable requirements for the design, development, validation and release of vehicle electrical and electronic components.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical requirements for the infotainment subsystem (and Cabin Thermal & Safety where applicable) across production phases, eliciting them through stakeholder interviews and workshops
• Analyze requirements and collaborate on the design and development of infotainment hardware and software, supporting system modeling and architecture
• Link DREs and System Architects and work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams to ensure correct hardware-software integration
• Identify and resolve hardware and software failures, applying diagnostic tools
• Manage workflows, tasks and issues with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) and JIRA, contributing to the SDLC
• Validate functionality and reliability through testing and perform DFMEA to mitigate design risks
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or engineering degree in fields such as mechatronics, electronics, computer systems, software or telecommunications engineering
• 1-3 years of experience in requirements definition, management and elicitation
• Experience with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN), embedded systems and vehicle safety regulations

Required skills

• Requirements management with IBM DOORS (1-3 years)
• Workflow control with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) (1 year)
• Issue tracking with JIRA (1-2 years)
• DFMEA analysis (basic to intermediate) and knowledge of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto integration
• CATIA V5 (basic) and basic Python or C/C++ for scripting or automation
