Tax Affairs & Government Relations Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Tax Affairs & Government Relations Specialist to join our growing team in Mexico City or work remotely. You will act as a key resource on regulatory and tax matters, supporting the organization’s interaction with government bodies and ensuring compliance with evolving legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise on regulatory matters related to product and policy changes.
• Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate forums and meetings with stakeholders to discuss business activities and potential legislation.
• Represent the company in legislative and regulatory proceedings, safeguarding its interests.
• Maintain databases and track regulatory changes.
• Represent the organization in external business meetings.
• Develop and maintain policies and programs to raise awareness of relevant legislation.
• Independently resolve moderately complex issues and escalate more complex matters as needed.
• Advise management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure legal compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law with a current license to practice.
• Minimum five years of experience in public affairs, specifically tax (SAT) matters.
• Experience in the transport and logistics industry is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding managerial and negotiation abilities.
