Tax Specialist – El Salvador Tax Operations

About the role

The Tax Specialist will ensure end‑to‑end operational excellence for all tax‑related processes affecting El Salvador. Working within Unilever's GBS Tax Operations team based in Mexico, you will manage compliance cycles, support month‑end and quarter‑end closings, and maintain high‑quality tax data and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit monthly and quarterly tax compliance deliverables for El Salvador, including WHT, CIT and VAT filings.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations for VAT and WHT, update local formats, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit legal VAT books, supplier reports (F987), annual WHT reports (F910) and Annex 4 documentation.
• Support external auditors (KPMG, EY) by providing required documentation and certifications.
• Address supplier queries, collaborate with finance, P2P and advisory teams, and identify risk mitigation solutions.

Required profile

• Strong accounting background with experience in tax compliance and reconciliation cycles.
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable handling large data sets.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and data quality.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
