Technical Design Engineer I

About the role

LIXIL is seeking a Technical Design Engineer I to join the Ceramic and Bathing product segment. The role focuses on creating new water‑technology products from concept through commercialization, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure performance, manufacturability, and market readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new product designs, including technical design, prototyping, testing, and tooling.
• Create 3D models and detailed dimensional drawings that meet design‑for‑manufacturing criteria.
• Maintain up‑to‑date BOMs, drawings, and revision control using WindChill PDM.
• Provide technical support and problem‑solving for manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
• Conduct DFM reviews, DFMEA, and root‑cause analysis for design issues.
• Manage design schedules in coordination with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to think creatively and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across functional teams.

Required skills

• Mechanical product design and CAD modeling.
• Prototyping, testing, and tooling design.
• WindChill PDM system for document and revision control.
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
• Root‑Cause Analysis (RCA) and ECR/ECN management.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and maintenance.
