VAT Refund Tax Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a VAT Refund Tax Specialist to join IKEA's tax department as we launch our first store in Mexico. You will play a key role in preparing and submitting VAT refund requests, ensuring compliance with Mexican tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT refund requests through the SAT portal.
• Perform accounting data reconciliations for accurate SAT submissions.
• Respond to SAT information and documentation requirements derived from refund requests.
• Determine credit balances, accreditation, and deduction requirements under the VAT Law.
• Utilise the Electronic Refund Form (FED) and maintain communication with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of professional experience in tax or fiscal compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
• Hands‑on experience with Electronic Refund Forms (FED) and the SAT portal.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Basic to intermediate English communication skills are advantageous.
