Vice President, Corporate Tax Planning (Mexico)

About the role

J.P. Morgan Mexico is looking for an experienced tax professional to join its Corporate Tax Planning Group as a Vice President. The role focuses on Mexican and cross‑border tax matters, supporting the firm’s strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance across all business lines.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Mexico Corporate Tax team to review and advise on internal corporate actions, legal entity restructurings, treasury transactions, and cross‑border initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal functions, lines of business, and overseas tax colleagues to assess tax implications of new projects, legislative changes, and restructuring efforts.
• Support tax audit processes, respond to information requests from tax authorities, and coordinate with internal and external advisors.
• Monitor developments in Mexican and international tax law, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead workstreams for legal entity and restructuring projects, ensuring timely execution and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 + years of tax experience at a top‑tier law firm or Big 4 accounting firm; financial services experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of Mexican corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and tax treaty application.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage senior‑level interactions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for quantitative analysis and reporting.
