Account Tax Specialist

About the role

The Account Tax Specialist will ensure full tax compliance for Midea LATAM North, preparing and filing tax returns while providing strategic tax guidance to optimise financial performance. This role requires strong knowledge of tax regulations, accounting principles and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal, state and local tax returns, maintaining accurate records for audits.
• Support tax planning initiatives, research regulatory changes and advise on tax strategies.
• Assist internal and external tax audits, responding to inquiries from authorities.
• Produce reports required by INEGI and the Ministry of Economy.
• Collaborate with finance on tax impacts, month‑end and year‑end closing, and financial statements.
• Review company expenses, travel costs and employee reimbursements (AP functions).
• Develop and improve tax procedures, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
• Forecast tax liabilities, contribute to fiscal budgeting and align tax considerations with business plans.
• Oversee international tax compliance for cross‑border transactions and coordinate with external consultants.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax accounting, auditing and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, local and international tax regulations.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, including occasional extended hours.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
