Buyer – Strategic Sourcing for Automotive/Aerospace

About the role

We are looking for an energetic and analytical Buyer with 3–5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost management within the automotive or aerospace sectors. The role is fully remote and focuses on managing raw direct‑material categories, ensuring cost, timing, and quality targets are met across multiple programs.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end sourcing process for raw direct materials, from RFQ issuance to supplier nomination.
• Analyze and negotiate supplier quotes, optimizing both piece/material and tooling costs.
• Align commercial terms, cost targets, and Engineering Development Deliverables (EDDs) while monitoring market fluctuations.
• Provide cost‑analysis insights, track raw‑material indexes (e.g., LME, CRU) and market trends for engineering and project leadership.
• Drive Design to Cost (DTC) initiatives and continuous cost‑reduction or hedging strategies.
• Perform benchmarking, market analysis, and raw‑material index tracking to ensure supplier competitiveness.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance metrics for cost, quality, and delivery.
• Prepare and present sourcing updates during program reviews.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of strategic sourcing or program buying experience in automotive or aerospace.
• Proven track record sourcing raw direct materials such as metals, plastics, resins, or chemical compounds.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience with commercial contract terms.
• Ability to manage mid‑to‑large scale purchasing projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with data analysis tools for complex pricing models.
• Knowledge of Design to Cost (DTC) methodologies.
• Familiarity with raw‑material index tracking (LME, CRU) and competitive benchmarking.
