Design Engineer I – Industrial Air Filtration

About the role

Donaldson is looking for a detail‑oriented Design Engineer I to support product development and enhancement projects within its Industrial Air Filtration division. You will create innovative dust‑collection system designs, ensure compliance with IAF standards, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to bring new products to market.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and testing of new and existing Industrial Air Filtration products.
• Generate detailed 3D CAD assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to improve product quality and implement design modifications.
• Conceptualize, prototype, and review designs for compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Gather feedback to drive cost‑effective enhancements on current and future designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing plants, corporate technology, product management, and other engineering teams.
• Prepare presentations and technical reports to communicate project status, test results, and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or an Associate degree with equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of engineering experience with knowledge of filtration principles or local exhaust ventilation systems.
• 3+ years of CAD design experience, advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (including sheet‑metal design).
• Strong competency with PDM software (Teamcenter preferred) and intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
