IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

As the IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer at Rompa Mexico, you will be the first point of contact for all IT needs on the plant floor. You will ensure that production systems, networks, and devices remain reliable, secure, and ready for daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Handle user onboarding and offboarding, including hardware provisioning, account creation and access rights.
• Troubleshoot LAN, Wi‑Fi and connectivity issues and perform basic network diagnostics.
• Maintain servers, apply patches, manage backups, antivirus and endpoint protection according to Group IT guidelines.
• Support plant‑floor IT devices such as barcode scanners and specialized production equipment.
• Deliver first‑line assistance for ERP, MES, Microsoft 365 and standard business applications.
• Escalate complex incidents to Group IT or external vendors and execute approved IT changes.
• Maintain asset inventory, documentation and ensure compliance with IT security and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, service‑oriented mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to work under pressure, stay stress‑resistant and focus on solutions.
• English proficiency sufficient for reading and creating documentation.

Required skills

• Windows workstation administration.
• Basic Windows Server administration.
• Fundamental networking knowledge (switches, Wi‑Fi, connectivity troubleshooting).
• Experience with printers, scanners and industrial IT devices.
• Understanding of standard IT security practices.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, ERP and MES systems.
• Backup, antivirus and endpoint protection management.
