Junior Security Analyst (SOC)

About the Position

Join the world-class Cybersecurity organization at SailPoint as a Junior Security Analyst. This entry-level role is designed for passionate individuals eager to dive into the front lines of defense, supporting our SOC team in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to evolving security threats in a dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor security events using industry-leading SIEM and EDR tools.
• Perform initial triage of security events under supervision and escalate potential incidents to senior analysts.
• Assist in documenting security events and maintaining up-to-date incident response playbooks.
• Support proactive threat monitoring by analyzing logs and security alerts.
• Participate in fundamental purple teaming exercises, fostering collaboration between Blue and Red teams.
• Collect and organize threat intelligence data (IOCs) from open-source and internal intelligence feeds.
• Conduct basic risk enumeration tasks, including vulnerability identification using provided tools.
• Engage in continuous learning through training in threat hunting, forensics, and APT understanding.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 0 to 2 years of professional experience in Cybersecurity or IT environments.

• Ability to work a specific afternoon/evening shift (13:00 to 22:00 CDT).
• Strong desire to grow within a high-performing security team.

Required Skills

• Foundational knowledge of networking and operating systems.

• Analytical mindset for event triage and log analysis.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and threat intelligence basics.
