Level Designer

About the role

High Voltage is looking for a creative Level Designer to shape engaging game environments from early concepts to final polish. You will work closely with artists, engineers, and other designers to deliver memorable player experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and polish game levels from concept and blockout through final ship quality.
• Implement gameplay elements such as encounters, puzzles, objectives, and scripted events using Blueprints and in‑engine tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary partners to integrate art, gameplay, and technical systems.
• Apply level design fundamentals (flow, pacing, composition, player guidance) and iterate based on playtest feedback.
• Create basic custom blockout geometry and maintain clear level documentation.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of professional level design experience in the game industry.
• Strong understanding of core level design principles and end‑to‑end production.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Unreal Engine 5.
• Ability to debug gameplay/Blueprint issues and work with limited supervision.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills; English proficiency B2 or higher.

Required skills

• Unreal Engine 5, Blueprints, World Partition, Data Layers, OFPA.
• Advanced level techniques such as HLODs, RVT, PCG.
• Experience with Nanite, Sequencer, Lumen, basic networking/replication concepts.
• Secondary technical skills (animation, UI/widgets, advanced Blueprint systems).
