Logistics Technician – Data Center Inventory & Asset

About the role

As a Logistics Technician (Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician) you will support Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation by managing inventory, handling deliveries, and ensuring the secure movement of equipment across data center sites. The role combines hands‑on logistics with customer‑focused service in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cycle audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Receive, document, and dispatch incoming and outgoing equipment.
• Coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors and manage access to secure zones.
• Initiate warranty claims and process returns for failed hardware.
• Communicate with Site Services, Facility Management, Security, Vendors, and Supply Chain to resolve delivery issues.
• Ensure all Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks meet company and industry standards.
• Support occasional business travel (0‑25%) and work 12‑hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Flexibility to work non‑standard hours and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Physical ability to handle equipment and operate in a data‑center environment.
