Mexico Language Manager

About the role

Canva is looking for a Mexico Language Manager to shape the brand’s voice in Spanish (Mexico) across product and marketing experiences. This 12‑month full‑time engagement will be based in Mexico City and will support the company’s rapid growth in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Country Localisation Lead to define and maintain Canva’s tone in Spanish (MX).
• Translate and review key product and marketing content, ensuring linguistic quality.
• Manage relationships with localisation partners and vendors.
• Develop and maintain style guides, glossaries, and translation memories.
• Provide cultural insights and localisation recommendations for Mexican audiences.
• Assess machine‑translation and AI‑generated outputs to uphold high‑quality experiences.
• Collaborate with marketing, subscriptions, content, and localisation teams on cross‑functional initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to localisation workflows, tooling, and quality processes at scale.

Required profile

• Exceptional writer and communicator in Spanish (MX) with strong sense of tone and cultural nuance.
• Passion for language, creativity, and delivering natural user experiences.
• Thrives in fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environments and takes ownership of projects.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review and improve translated content.
• Enjoys cross‑functional collaboration and building stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Experience with CAT tools.
• Familiarity with localisation platforms (Smartling is a plus).
