Payroll Accountant – US (Corporate Sector)

About the role

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is seeking a Payroll Accountant to provide accounting support for U.S. sites. The role focuses on payroll and benefit accruals, ensuring data integrity in line with U.S. GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end journal entries, reclassifications and adjustments for payroll expense and liability accounts.
• Reconcile payroll, time‑and‑labor reports, and general ledger data in SAP or Oracle.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payroll accounting.
• Compare cash receipt and disbursement activity on Oracle GL with bank statements and resolve reconciling items.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations for payroll and benefit accruals and execute true‑up adjustments.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies between the payroll system and the general ledger.
• Collect supporting documentation from finance, divisions, and internal accounting teams on a monthly basis.
• Assist with interim and year‑end external audit testing of accrual accounts.
• Prepare and present payroll data reports on weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly schedules as required.
• Identify and implement efficiencies, work‑paper improvements, and standardization initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in written, spoken, and listening English.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
