Regulatory & Compliance Manager – Water Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Regulatory & Compliance Manager to ensure that all water infrastructure project activities in Mexico meet federal, state, and local regulations. The role supports project development, permitting, design, and construction while coordinating with internal teams and external authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage permitting and regulatory strategies for environmental, water rights, land use, and infrastructure approvals.
• Maintain compliance tracking systems and monitor permit conditions.
• Serve as primary liaison with regulatory authorities, environmental agencies, utilities, and government stakeholders.
• Coordinate with environmental and engineering teams to align design solutions with regulatory requirements.
• Support cross‑border alignment between Mexico‑ and U.S.-based project activities.
• Identify compliance risks, devise mitigation plans, and resolve regulatory issues.
• Manage external consultants and ensure timely, accurate submission of documentation.
• Assist project planning, feasibility, scheduling, and construction readiness while ensuring permit compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field.
• Proven experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or environmental management for large infrastructure or water projects.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican regulatory frameworks.
