Application Developer Specialist

About the role

PPG is looking for an Application Developer Specialist to join its Corporate Digital team. You will help build cloud‑native solutions that support the company’s science and technology color capabilities worldwide, working with modern AI‑enabled development tools.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and implement business applications on Azure and AWS.
• Leverage LLM‑enabled tools to improve code quality, speed, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with color scientists, IT colleagues, and business partners to define requirements and technical solutions.
• Maintain awareness of existing and upcoming IT projects to promote application sharing.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new software tools and technologies.
• Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and solution designs.
• Ensure applications meet architectural standards, performance, reliability, and security guidelines.
• Create, modify, test code, and provide documentation and technical support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT or related roles.
• Strong ability to manage application design and prioritize project work.
• Understanding of Agile development methodology.
