Cargo Supervisor

About the role

The Cargo Supervisor leads the cargo and cargo‑utility operations on board, ensuring safe, efficient loading, off‑loading and maintenance of cargo systems. Reporting to the Cargo Superintendent, the role combines technical oversight with strong safety leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, start, monitor, and shut down marine and cargo operations.
• Supervise Cargo Operators, GP Foremen and Crane Drivers, delegating tasks based on competence.
• Lead emergency response and critical‑situation management, including weather events, equipment failures and spills.
• Control pollution discharges, identify unplanned releases and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Support tank entry, inspection and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with on‑shore and offshore departments, ensuring timely closure of audit and survey actions.

• Demonstrated leadership in technical and safety matters.
• Ability to delegate authority responsibly and verify task completion.
• Strong awareness of emergency procedures and pollution control policies.
