Compensation Specialist

About the role

Microsoft is seeking a Compensation Specialist to join its global Compensation Lateral Consulting team. In this position you will act as a trusted advisor, blending data, policy, and market insight to help HR partners make informed compensation decisions while adhering to strict confidentiality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new compensation needs, process gaps, and program design opportunities.
• Analyze business requirements, compliance rules, and competitive market data.
• Create and deliver materials that communicate proposed compensation changes.
• Conduct compensation analyses and support multiple program components.
• Partner with internal teams to execute implementation plans and share resources.
• Resolve escalations and answer policy, tool, or content questions from clients and partners.
• Contribute to the development of compensation toolkits, embedded guidance, and AI‑assisted automations.
• Apply Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative principles to protect highly confidential compensation data.
