Component Engineer

About the role

As a Component Engineer in the Gas Turbine Service Engineering team, you will support the reliability and performance of Siemens Energy's in‑service gas turbine fleet. You will work on troubleshooting complex technical issues, supporting outage activities, and developing innovative repair solutions while collaborating with customers, field service teams, and engineering experts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote engineering support for compressor, rotor, and casing‑related fleet outage activities and technical issues.
• Troubleshoot complex field, customer, and repair facility challenges and conduct risk assessments related to component life and operational impact.
• Evaluate service‑run components, analyse fleet data, and determine repair, inspection, and maintenance recommendations.
• Develop and implement new inspection techniques, repair methodologies, design modifications, and product enhancements.
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation such as technical reports, repair instructions, inspection procedures, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, subject‑matter experts, and customers to communicate findings and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2‑5 years of professional engineering experience, preferably in turbomachinery, power generation, rotating equipment, component design, or service engineering.
• Advanced English proficiency with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills for interacting with customers and cross‑functional teams.
