About the role

The Cost Accountant will support the plant’s financial operations by managing cost calculations, inventory transactions, and asset accounting. The role ensures accurate reporting, compliance with internal policies, and provides analytical support for budgeting and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate raw material and finished‑good costs under PO contracts and plant‑approved rates; analyze cost buckets for scrap, markup, and fixed costs.
• Review inventory transactions, communicate implications to plant departments, and train staff on company processes.
• Perform weekly and monthly plant sales reconciliations.
• Manage asset capitalizations, transfers, disposals, and coordinate bi‑annual fixed‑asset inventories.
• Review and resolve accounts‑receivable debits; assist controller with debit‑note reviews.
• Lead month‑end costing reporting and generate related inventory reports.
• Prepare manual customer invoices when required.
• Assist in budget preparation, expense analysis, and sales variance reporting.
• Support risk‑compliance matrix testing and educate owners on timely completion.
• Execute AP and AR reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and internal‑control templates at month‑end.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
• Experience with fixed‑asset accounting and asset lifecycle processes.
• Ability to perform detailed reconciliations and month‑end closing activities.
• Proficiency in preparing budgets, variance analysis, and risk‑compliance documentation.
