Financial & Planning Specialist (FP&A)

About the role

A detail-oriented, analytical Financial & Planning Specialist is sought to join the team in Mexico City (Arcos Bosques). The specialist supports financial forecasting, budgeting and analysis to back strategic decisions, working closely with the management team and department leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze trends in key performance indicators, especially financial metrics such as sales, expenses and profit margin, and monitor them to find causes of unexpected variances
• Review and analyse financial planning information and reports, recommending changes to management
• Support management and department leaders with data-driven analysis
• Develop and analyse financial models to support strategic initiatives
• Assist in the month-end close by preparing recurring and ad-hoc performance reports, researching general ledger activities and budget variances
• Evaluate financial plans by identifying outcomes and potential returns
• Prepare financial presentations with charts, graphs and econometric models
• Assist in developing budgets and quarterly forecasts, and prepare planning reports by collecting, analysing and summarising data
• Update financial databases by entering, verifying and securing data
• Continually improve budgeting, financial projections and operating forecasts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, industrial engineering or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in multinational companies
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, and strong stakeholder management
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving
• Advanced English, written and spoken

Required skills

• Advanced Excel
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Cliq, etc.) is a plus

The role is hybrid: colleagues must be in the local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week, with an anchor day each week for the team.
